Grown Up Christmas Wish List

If you are like me and adore Christmas songs, hopefully you’ve been tuning into 103.5 QMFM. Since late November they’ve only been playing Christmas songs.
It really puts you in the holiday mood and it’s fun to listen to many artists’ rendition of classic Christmas songs.
Michael Buble recently did a cover for Grown-Up Christmas List & even though I’ve heard this song many times before, having it sung by him really put the words into perspective. It truly is a list that we can’t appreciate until we’ve been through some of our own mishaps and we open our heart to those who are in need:
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I’m all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I’m not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
